History
Stockholm was founded in 1252 by the Swedish ruler Briller Jarl, while in the area there are traces of life from the Stone Age. In the middle Ages, Stockholm was besieged by many, thanks to its geographical position, of the commercial port and iron mining. Despite the difficulties, Stockholm was able to grow progressively through the years with the culmination arriving in the 19th century, when the city industrialised. In the 20th century Stockholm became a modern and technologically advanced city, while in the 21st century became a global city, with significant economic and social global influence.
Sights
Stockholm is full of attractions that will impress you. First, visit the Royal Palace, where until today resides, the Royal Family of Sweden, as well as the Nobel Museum, which is dedicated to the history of awarding the famous prize. In addition, the museum of Vasa, is the most famous museum in Scandinavia, where you will have the chance to admire a real ship-wreck of the 17th century. At a short distance from the centre you will find the Stockholm Archipelago, with 300,000 islands, while don't forget to make the round of the channel of Stockholm with the boats departing from the dock Strömkajen. Finally, for lovers of green and nature, a visit to the island of Djurgården is mandatory. There you will find the aquarium, zoo, amusement park and 22 museums, among which the one dedicated to the legendary band of the FRIAR.

Classic local specialties that worth a try, are the smorgasbord, which is smoked herring with boiled potatoes, crackers, ginger, and spicy cheese Västerbotten as well as the heli in many variations.

In terms of nightlife, Stockholm is once again diversity. In the neighborhood Hornstull, you will find cool bars and cafes, while in the Stureplan square you will find the most fashionable club. If you want a more relaxed atmosphere, select one of the many alternative places in the region Södermalm. Finally, the city is particularly prevalent in the mixology bars for imaginative cocktails.
